Radar is our Big Brown Bat Ambassador (yes, that's really the species' common name!). She was rescued in San Diego with a broken wing that healed in a fixed position, leaving her unable to fly. Now 11 years old, Radar helps people learn about bats and their important role in ecosystems, serving as an ambassador for all bat species.
Fun fact: There are 19 species of bats living on the California Central Coast, and all of them are insectivorous.
