Gilbert is one of our Virginia Opossum Ambassadors. He came to PWC as a baby with neurological damage from head trauma and is missing one eye. He is often active during the day and does not respond to potential threats like a wild opossum would, making him unfit to survive on his own. At 1.5 years old, his docile demeanor helps change minds and negative attitudes towards his species.
Fun fact: Virginia Opossums have a natural resistance to rattlesnake venom.
