Oberon is our Long-eared Owl Ambassador. He fell from his nest as a youngster and fractured both wings, leaving him unable to fly well enough to survive in the wild. Now 15 years old, he helps the community learn about the unique adaptations of owls and how to help protect them.
Fun fact: Like other owls, Long-eared Owls have specialized feathers with fringed edges and soft, downy surfaces that make for silent flight.
