Rocky is our Rock Pigeon Ambassador. He has a neurological condition that prevents him from flying more than a few feet, making it impossible for him to survive in the wild. At 8 years old, Rocky helps visitors learn about pigeons and the surprising abilities of these often-underappreciated birds.
Fun fact: Like all pigeons and doves, Rock Pigeon parents produce crop milk for their young. This nutrient-rich liquid is secreted by the lining of the crop in their throat and is similar in composition to mammal milk.
